Scribbles

I have two pieces going that involve scribbles. I’m not sure what it is about them, but I love that I am forced to work with the mess I made and turn it into something.

The first one I started a long time ago but never finished. I put it back on the easel again recently and added a gold varnish and bumped up the blue contrast. I thinks it is almost done.

The other I took a high gloss medium and mixed up some dry gold pigment with it and swirled scribbles on the canvas. Once it dried I put a thin yellow oxide was over it. I haven’t decided what to do next on it.

Outside the Studio

I haven’t been able to get in the studio because my kids were on break from school but I have been going to pottery and doing some home projects.

Hopefully this week I will have some time to paint at lunch. I have some leftover gold spray paint from the desk that I can’t wait to play with.

Friday

I worked some more on the fiery sky piece and for some reason a bunch of golden figures wanted to get in on it, so I let them. I’m not sure I’m done with it yet but I like the added figures, they’re like guardians of some sort.

The canvas with circular texture went blue today and I am using some pthalo blue to make the texture come out. It will probably need some silver additions later as well.
